How do I use it?
STEP 1:
Empty the contents of one sachet (or more depending on your grey hairs) using sufficient water to make a paste consistency
STEP 2:
apply the paste to cover the grey hairs using an applicator brush; Leave for 60 min ( if you are using Dark Brown Nilini) and then wash off with normal water.
STEP 3:
Once a sachet is opened, use it as fast as possible. If opened for more than 3 hours, discard it.
For Best Results:
- On the day of using NILINI, avoid using every other products on hair. Wash your hair using natural shampoo the previous day and make sure there is no oil trace on your hair ( completely dry hair ) before applying NILINI.
- Use only water to rinse off the hair color.
- We recommend waiting for 1 day before using any shampoo/ shikakai/ conditioner.
- Next day of using NILINI – You can use NEELIBRINGADI hair oil for the massage and wash off using Bhringa Thali shampoo and conditioner.
- Avoid using harsh chemical based products or shampoos that could tamper NILINI hair color.
To maintain dark brown color and for NILINI to yield results, use our recommended hair treatment oil Neelibringadi that can help you retain hair strength, help with all hair and scalp related problems etc. Neelibringadi also contain indigo which is excellent for maintaining the colour coverage of the hair.

Blue Indigo flower powder
Indigo is used to give a natural color to the hair. It helps detangle the hair, and makes the hair thicker, more manageable imparts a lustre to hair
Banana Stem
While the banana fruit is the most effective part of the fruit for haircare, you can also extract the juice from the banana stem and use it as a conditioner and hair rinse. Regular application of this can help boost hair growth, and also prevent premature greying.
Coffee Beans
Using coffee for hair, helps stimulate your hair follicles and speeds up hair growth. Caffeine also improves the blood circulation to your scalp, which in turn allows for nutrients to reach your scalp more efficiently. This results in a quicker and healthier hair growth.
Tea Leaves
Black tea contains a high concentration of tannins, a type of polyphenol antioxidant that neutralizes cell-damaging compounds called free radicals. In particular, black tea contains theaflavins and thearubigins, which give it its characteristic dark color. Due to this dark pigment, black tea rinses may give naturally dark hair a temporary boost of color and help reduce the appearance of grey hairs.
Coconut shell powder
Coconut shell powder helps soothe the scalp and removes impurities. The deep cleaning of the pores helps the scalp breathe, thus stimulating the healthy growth of hair.
Henna leaves
Henna has a cooling effect on the scalp. The antifungal and antimicrobial properties of henna help in maintaining the scalp health by fighting against various scalp issues like dandruff, scalp itchiness, etc. It helps in removing impurities from the hair.
Bhringaraj
PROMOTES HAIR GROWTH AND REDUCES GREYING: Bhringraj, also known as Eclipta Alba, promotes hair growth, reduces greying and balding and makes the hair darker. Maha Bhringraj is an all-in-one hair treatment for hair loss, premature graying, dandruff that restores and nurtures damaged hair back to health.
Pomegranate
Punicic acid, found in pomegranate seeds is known to make your hair follicles stronger and also ensures proper blood circulation to your scalp. This aids in stimulating hair growth by bringing out the natural oils in your hair and preventing hair breakage. The pomegranate oil conditions the hair shaft to reduce dryness and breakage that keep the hair shaft moisturized for a very long time. Hence, moisture reduces frizz, breakage, split ends and single strand knots. Reduces Grey Hair
Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera calms an itchy scalp, deep cleans and moisturizes hair, control frizz etc. Aloe vera also rejuvenates hair, giving it elasticity and preventing breakage
Bibhitaka
Bibhitaki intrinsically showcases anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties that helps in treating various scalp and hair infections like folliculitis, itching and dandruff. The iron and potassium present in Bibhitaki balances the deficiency of minerals required for adequate melanin production, thus preventing premature greying of hair.
Hibiscus leaves
Hibiscus leaves nourishes and conditions hair while restoring the elasticity of strands, thus reducing hair fall. Hibiscus benefits hair by naturally sealing the moisture on the shafts of hair and making it smooth and silky.
Lotus
All parts of lotus can be used for medicinal purposes and the seeds and stems are used in Ayurvedic medicine. The Lotus flower itself is a potent antioxidant, which detoxifies the body, skin and hair and prevents it from free radicals and oxidative stress. Other than this, being rich in nutrients needed by hair are present in this flower and this flower is known to stimulate melanin, the pigment that imparts colour to the skin and hair. It helps to prevent premature graying of hair and even acts as a moisturizing agent for your skin.
Moringa
Vitamins C and E in Moringa help fight off free radicals and reverse the damage they cause. If your grey hair is caused by overexposure to free radicals then Moringa can help counter it. Since moringa contains pterygospermin it acts as anti-bacterial and anti-fungal helping in prevention of dandruff, itchy scalp, psoriasis , eczema and bacterial blisters.
Mandukaparni/ Gotu Kola/ Brahmi
Mandukaparni is a Sanskrit name and is known as Brahmi in Hindi, commonly known as Gotu Kola. It is a medicinal plant and one of the most important herbs in Ayurveda known from ancient times. It is basically connected with our nervous system and is considered to be a tonic for the brain. It promotes the growth of healthy hair. The massage of Mandukaparni juice and coconut oil is helpful to stimulate the hair follicles thus prevent hair fall and greying of hair.
Shikakai
Shikakai improves the moisture-retaining capacity of your hair follicles, which makes ensures that it prevents premature greying as well as prevents your hair colour from fading very quickly
Vetiver
With with anti-microbial properties, Vetiver helps improves blood circulation in the hair follicles, prevents various hair infections and also takes part in collagen formation. It is extremely useful for rejuvenating dull, lifeless hair. Regular use of the Vetiver oil improves hair texture, adds shine and stimulates hair growth.
Betel leaves
According to Ayurveda, betel leaves are known to treat issues like hair fall. Using betel leaves regularly helps in quick hair growth. They condition the hair and make your hair thick and long. It also helps in treating issues like itchiness, dandruff, and split ends.
Amla
Amla treats dandruff, strengthens hair and promotes hair growth and make the scalp squeaky clean, reduce itchiness. The nutrients present in Amla penetrate into the follicles, making the hair softer, shinier and voluminous. Amla is a natural hair and scalp conditioner, it softens and smoothen the hair cuticle preventing hair breakage and manages frizz. Amla is rich in Vitamin C and has anti-oxidant properties that not only does it prevents hair from premature graying but also make them healthy and shining
Neem
Neem is rich in antioxidants that curb the action of free radicals that cause premature greying of hair. Fatty acids present in the neem oil are responsible for the natural lustre and shine of your hair. Vitamin E and calcium make the hair roots strong and thus help achieve longer hair with natural shine. Regular application of neem for hair will keep the scalp healthy and young and prevent premature greying of hair.

Kindly do a patch test by applying the product (open the patch test sample sachet that comes with the product and mix with water to make a paste consistency) on the back of your ear and wash after 1 hour. Observe for any allergy indications for 48 hours and watch out for any irritation, itchiness or redness. Discontinue if any rashes or redness or irritation occurs.

Nilini is an ayurvedic hair colour made with 100% natural ingredients. It is India’s first and only hair colour without Hydrogen Peroxide, Sodium Perborate and Ammonia. Peroxide, Perborates and Ammonia are known as bleaching chemicals. These bleaching chemicals will trigger hair fall and increase grey hairs. There is only one way of producing hydrogen peroxide, sodium perborate and ammonia free hair colour, it is by heating 100% natural ingredients along with burnt coconut shells for several days. However heating of natural ingredients along with burnt coconut shells may result in the release of para phenylene diamine in this product. Total Aryalamine content is less than 2% after dilution with water. If you are someone with normal skintype , then this is the best hair colour available in the market. If you have sensitive or allergy skin, then we don’t recommend this product.

NILINI dark brown hair colour is intended to color grey hairs to dark brown shade. If you are a NILINI black user, within 2-3 uses yo will see the difference. NILINI dark brown will not color normal black hair to dark brown. Only the grey hair will be colored to darkest Brown colour. Rest of the hair remains unchanged.
Note: Color and the aroma of the product varies from batch to batch depending on the ingredient seasonal changes. This is completely normal considering the raw nature of the product. Can go from light green to darkest green from batch to batch. These color variations do not deteriorate the quality of the product in any way. We take great care in sourcing the finest ingredients and ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and effectiveness.
Ingredients are different. Both are one step hair colours intended to colour grey hairs to brown and black.
NILINI black will convert GREYS to natural black colour & NILINI dark brown will convert GREYS to darkest brown shade. normal black hairs remain unchanged for both products
If you are a avid NILINI Black hair colour user, initially you might not see any difference. But, within 2-3 uses, grey hairs will be darkest brown shade
We recommend you NOT TO MIX the two. Ingredients are different and proportion is different and purpose is different.
Now, to answer the question- If both are mixed and used – COLOR might be more of a reddish or orange tint . Coverage, performance and longevity will be poor as when mixed, proportion also changes and product will NOT work as expected.
IT WILL NOT WORK. NILINI Dark Brown is intended to colour GREY hair to darkest brown. if you apply the dark brown colour on a normal black hair, It will not work. Hair colour remains unchanged.

Hair color longevity depends on a number of factors.
1. First and foremost, you should always leave your hair color for at least 90 minutes before washing it off. This will allow the product to fully set and achieve the best results.
2. You should also make sure that the consistency of NILINI paste is not too watery when mixing it. In addition, we recommend that you only use water as an ingredient in your hair color paste and avoid using any other powders or products like ground henna or indigo etc.
3. For those who wash their hair multiple times a day or week, this means your hair color may fade faster.
4. Avoid sulfates in shampoo and conditioner.
5. Using Hot Styling Tools Without Heat Protection
6. If you have hard water running through your pipes, you might experience faster color fading. Hard water is composed of high amounts of calcium and magnesium, which can wear down hair.
Any kind of hair color natural is to be applied or used from 18 years of age. We recommend the usage of NILINI only after 18 years of age

Mix the patch test sample in water to make a paste consistency and using a cotton earbud or a applicator brush , Apply the sample on the backside of your ear sufficient to cover an area about the size of a coin. Allow it to dry for 1 hour and wash it off.
Watch out for any irritation, discomfort, itchiness or rashes for next 48 hours. Don’t use the product if there’s any kind of discomfort, rashes, allergies or reactions.
Usage of chemicals can permanently damage hair. this might also result in color variations. We recommend you perform PATCH TEST as well as STRAND TEST to find out how your hair will react to colors even if its natural hair color.
Strand test would determine the length of time colour need to remain on your chemically treated hair to obtain desired results.
You might also want to visit a Trichologist and take their opinion before performing strand test.
