In Sanskrit, Šeşa is the nagaraja — the King of all Nāgas — one of the primal beings of creation, on whom Vishnu rests. The name carries the deepest meaning in Vedic cosmology: the eternal residue that persists when all else dissolves. The knowledge that outlasts every age.
